voyages

Bonjour bonjour!
Last weekend I went on a trip to.. Parissssssss! The weather was amazing so we've managed to see a lot:
- Louvre
- Montmartre and Sacre Coeur
- La Tour Eiffel [by night]
- La Defence
- L'Arc de Triomph
- Les Champs Elysees
We also took a ride in 'bateau mouche', a little ship which goes along Seine, and amired beautiful views.

Tomorrow we'll most probably go to Ghent just for a one day trip to have a look around.

Last Wednesday I had a chance to party hard at TD - event for students organised every Monday to Thursday. Think everyone should go there at least once to experience this atmosphere. I liked it, really enjoyed dancing..

Lundi, mardi

What did I do yesterday.. oh yes, went to do a wee shopping and got some stuff for my room, yay! Photo frames are my favourite, green, silver and rouge, niceeeeeee. All this makes my room look even better. Right, so shopping and then I was reading my syllabus for the history cours and it took me.. one hour to read, how many.. 4 pages! ha ha ha, not funny, I know! Have my French test results tomorrow morning, but prob won't check them untill the afternoon since I'm now with my Mum, Mummy!

Think that's all I've done lately, nothing too exciting as you can see, oh well, not every day has to be super schuette :)

Did I tell you that I'm being called 'Jenny' by my Belgian friends? No? Well I am.

A bientot

Nuit Blanche!

Hello everyone. Got something to tell yous. On Saturday we [Anna, Catherine, Emma, Caribou and other erasmus friends] went to the centre of Brussels in the evening for, the so called, NUIT BLANCHE. The idea is that there are different attractions, like concerts, shows and special alcohol stands open wole night. people are having a lot of fun in the centre. First we went to a quite old café for one drink, then split into two groups and left to have some fun with everyone else.

St. Catherine Square - there was a concert, different kinds of ethnic music, drums and all that, so we had a drink and then started dancing in a group, lauging and smiling all the time :)

Grand Place - was our kebeb stop, as some of us were hungry. The place, talking bout G.P., was sooooooo dirty, with hips of broken glass on the ground and other rubbish, oh and young people sitting down drinking and shouting..

Park Royal - again concert with some rock and pop music mixed with ethnic drums and also a show of woman climbing two ropes and doing some acrobatic figures, which was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, thats pretty much all, didn't get home untill 4 in the morning, but the night buses were free [no wonder, as when we got on this bus there was a huge piuke in the middle, disgusting!!], weather wasn't best but we've managed to have a lot of fun :)

salut!

Yes, I did have the meeting with my advisor, last week.. He’s not the nicest, believes my French is not very good and speaks English to me - he’s English.

I was thinking bout signing up for “Atelier arts plastiques” and doing some drawing and painting, sounds good but I haven’t done it for ages..

Oh, bout these 2nd and 3rd year students, it’s because it’s a lot cheaper to stay in the halls then to rent a proper flat. I’ve asked one of my neighbours and so he explained why they stay here.

This Wednesday, there was a huge concert on the campus, 4 stages with different kinds of music, it was pretty loud he he. Well we had a couple of drinks in one of the rooms in my corridor and then went outside but the weather was awful, so didn’t stay too long.

There are free French courses organised for the Erasmus students but because I’ve missed the level test, I had to go this morning and talk to the woman responsible for these courses. The chat was nice and she, unlike my adisor, said that my French is probably too good for this course but told me to sit the test this Monday and she’ll see how I’ll do in it.

In Brussels

I arrived on 14th September about 17h, took a bus from Charleroi airport to Gare du Midi [Southern Train Station] and then a taxi to Universite Libre de Bruxelles. Well that was it – a place where i’m meant to spend next 3 months.

I live at the ULB campus and my room resmbles a hospital room.. it’s quite big – twice as big as the one I had in Hector Boece, but has tiles on the floor and pure white walls pus a basin and so it all makes it look like a hospital. I’ve managed to put some pictures on walls and it looks a bit better now :)

Well anyway, stangely enough people living in the student halls here are mostly 2nd and 3rd year students and they all know each other. Weird, cause I would never want to stay in the halls again, after my first year.

I know some places in Brussels now, the “Grand Place” is amazing, each of the buildings surrounding it is different, they all look really old.
